Lisa A. Kachnic, MD

Dr. Kachnic is a board certified radiation oncologists and Professor of Radiology at Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Kachnic specializes in Breast, Lung, and GI Cancers. She serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute and Gastrointestinal Cancer Research, and contributes her radiation expertise to the National Cancer Institute's Adult Oncology Treatment Editorial Board and to the U.S. Department of Defense Medical Research Study Sections. Her primary areas of interest include colo-rectal and anal malignancies, image-guided radiation delivery, outcomes/symptoms management research and translational research. She is actively involved in the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group's GI and Outcome strategic committees and has been the RTOG Chairperson of Symptom Management since 2003. She also serves as GI Radiation Oncology Chair and Discipline Vice-chair of the Radiation Oncology Committee for the Southwest Oncology Group.


Harvey J. Mamon MD

Dr. Mamon's research activities are focused on optimizing the combination of radiation with systemic therapies including conventional chemotherapy and newer targeted agents in the management of malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract. A parallel interest is the development of new techniques for delivery of radiation therapy and measuring radiation effects on normal tissues. 
Dr. Mamon is interested in expanding his research to include translational projects such as identifying biomarkers as prognostic or predictive factors for the response to treatment, and development of targeted agents to act as radiosensitizers.
